Currently ranked among the world’s top-15 players, McDowell had a historic 2010 season in which he became the first European in 40 years to win the US Open Championship. He also secured the winning point for the 2010 European Ryder Cup team, and claimed three additional Tour titles. The 32-year-old’s 2011 season was highlighted by four third-place finishes, including the elite-field Hyundai Tournament of Champions, WGC-HSBC Champions and Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.
Known for his classic style and understated manner, McDowell had an impressive amateur career that included ranking as the No. 1 collegiate golfer in the US after winning six tournaments in 12 starts his senior year. He also served as a member of the victorious 2001 GB&I Walker Cup squad.
