A great day for families with children
ECCO® Walkathon Kolding is a wonderful event for families and their children. The grown-ups will enjoy the old and pictoresque Akseltorv with its town hall dating back from the Middle Ages. And on the big stage there will be lots of music and entertaiment for all ages. The big event of the day is a walk through the streets of Kolding.
As last year, the route comprises a 6 km walk – and if you're up to it, you can walk the route several times. You see, for every kilometer you walk, you donate 10 Danish kroner to one of the 2 projects of your choice. The longer you walk, the more money you donate with your feet.
In 2008, 500 participants walked a total of 3000 kilometers through the streets of Kolding and 35,000 Danish kroner were donated to WWF and to the Canadian organization, Street Kids International.

Start & Finish: Akseltorv
Akseltorv will be the start and destination area. In the Walkathon area you will find our registration tent, the main stage with ongoing music and entertainment, and the children's area offering lots of children activities. You will find stalls where you can buy food and drink all day.

Wheelchairs and prams
Wheelchair users and parents with prams are most welcome to participate in ECCO Walkathon. Both routes are designed to include everyone. Walkathon helpers will be standing along the entire route to provide assistance, should you encounter any obstacles.

Charity Projects
When you participate in ECCO Walkathon, you are helping street children in Poland and in Kenya, protecting the ice bears in Arctic, and giving children with heart disease a better life.
You see, for every kilometre you walk ECCO will donate 7.50 DKK to the project you choose to support. Last year, ECCO donated more than 3.5 million DKK to Street Kids International, WWF, and local heath projects.
