Fifth edition of ECCO Walkathon in Warsaw

ECCO Walkathon is a great opportunity to spend time with family and friends. This year, participants are going to meet again in the beautiful area of the Old and New Town. On Saturday 12th September I Dywizji Pancernej Square, called Podzamcze, will be where the events connected with 5th edition of  ECCO Walkathon take place.

As in the previous years, the organizers have prepared a lot of attractions. A stage will be erected where concerts, entertainment programmes as well as games and surprises for children will take place. ECCO Walkathon participants will set off from Podzamcze on two routes: 6 and 10 kilometres. For each kilometre they walk, the organizer, ECCO Company (Danish producer of shoes), will donate 4 PLN for a charity of your choice.

    Start & Finish: Podzamcze

Podzamcze will be the start and the destination area. It is a terrain which is set around the beautiful Royal Castle over the Wisła River and it’s a part of the Old Town. The square is placed on the slope of Warsaw’s scarp. It is limited with the streets Sanguszki, Wybrzeże Gdańskie and Boleść.
In the Walkathon area you will find our registration tents, the main stage with ongoing music and entertainment, the children's area offering lots of children activities, as well as the 3 organisations' tents. You will find stalls where you can buy food and drink all day.

    6 km route

Both routes begin and finish at Podzamcze. A 6 km route is mainly for families with children. It leads through most beautiful places in Warsaw like Saski Garden and Krasińskich Park where among greenery and in amiable atmosphere you will be able to rest and relax during the walk. They will be able to admire renovated Royal Route (Trakt Królewski), magical little streets and colourful tenement houses of Old and New Town. Along this route, like last year, the youngest participants will encounter a lot of attractions.

    10 km route

A longer route on the stretch of Krakowskie Przedmieście is the same as the 6 km route. In Royal Route  (Trakt Królewski) paths of the walk separate in opposite directions. The 10 km route is foreseen for active and fit participants as it’s not only longer but also leads through numerous stairs and steep descents. Its way leads participants through charming areas of squares and parks. Route outlined along Warsaw scarp and Vistula River leads to the finish. It’s the route chosen especially by those walk participants who cover it several times so as to donate as much money to the charity of their choice as possible.
