A great experience for families with children
ECCO® Walkathon Hamburg is an event for all people, big and small, inviting you to donate money for charity with your feet. Children can give free reign to their imagination in the children's area and go treasure hunting on the children's route. Their parents and all other participants can relax on the lawns of Naturbad Stadtparksee, the historic public swimming pool in Hamburg’s large municipal park. You can enjoy a wonderful walk through the Stadtpark and up to the Alster river, criss-crossing bridges across the water. Before and after the walks there is live music and entertainment on the stage at Naturbad Stadtparksee.
You can choose the 6 km or the 10 km route – and if you're up to it, you can even walk the routes several times. You see, for every kilometer you walk, you automatically donate 1 € to one of the three charity projects, and the more you walk, the more money goes to the project of your choice.
Since 1999, more than 300,000 people have participated in ECCO Walkathon events across the world collecting close to 2.5 million euros for charity. In Hamburg, this year's donations go towards WWF’s Artic climate project, Street Kids International's project for street children in Kenya and Poland, and NestWerk’s street soccer project in Hamburg.
