August 30, 2009 - Copenhagen, Kastellet

An El Dorado for families with children

ECCO Walkathon Copenhagen is an event for all people, big and small, inviting you to donate money for charity with your feet. Children can give free reign to their imagination in the children's area and go treasure hunting on the children's route. Their parents and all other participants can relax on the pictoresque ramparts of the capital's citadel, Kastellet, and enjoy a wonderful walk through the streets of Copenhagen. To end the day: a LIVE concert from the big stage with the famous Danish group, Dodo & The Dodos.

As usual, the Walkathon comprises a 6 km and a 10 km route, and if you're up to it, you can even walk the routes several times, as a lot of people choose to. You see, for every kilometer you walk, you automatically donate 7.50 Danish kroner that ECCO pays towards one of the 3 projects you want to support.

In 2008, 16,100 participants walked the streets of Copenhagen donating 1.1 million Danish kroner to The Danish Heart Foundation's Children's Fund (Hjertebarnsfonden), WWF, and the Canadian organisation, Street Kids International.
