May 31, 2008 - Skövde, Hertig Johans torg

On a beautiful sunny Saturday, 550 happy people, among them many families, met up to participate in Skövde's first ECCO Walkathon. For the event, the Swedish town's market square, Hertig Johans torg, was equipped with a stage, an exhibition about the charity projects and a number of booths for registration, balloons and snacks. After the return of the participants from the 6km walk, Swedish TV legend, folk singer and chanteuse Lill-Babs entertained the crowd with live music and sing-alongs. The Walkathon in Skövde raised 40,000 Swedish kronor for the charity projects run by Street Kids International and the WWF.

A big thanks to Per and Ann-Liz Almgren from the ECCO Shop for a fantastic event in Skövde as well as to our cooperation partners and all artists and friends for their great commitment and positive energy!

Walkathon tour - distance 6 km

The walk is partly based on Skövde's (shorter) cultural route, developed by the Tourist Centre. The distance of 6 kilometres is well-suited for families with children - also for prams and wheelchairs. Click on the image to the left to see the route map.
