Another record year for ECCO Sko A/S
With a 16.8% increase to DKK 5,220m, revenue rose to above DKK 5bn for the first time ever in ECCO’s history. In 2007, the sales volume went up by 14.5% to 16.9 million pairs. Profit before tax rose to DKK 756m, corresponding to 14.5% of revenue, and profit after tax of DKK 538m – ECCO’s best-ever performance

On December 11th, ECCO Shoes Hong Kong Limited was awarded The Diploma of the Danish Export Association and His Royal Highness Prince Henrik’s Medal of Honour because of the excellent performance and the contribution to promoting Danish products internationally.

ECCO International trainees graduated
In August 2007 a group of four young employees graduated from ECCO’s international trainee programme (EITE) and spread out to work for ECCO all around the world. The EITE programme is a three year long trainee programme. During the first year of the programme the trainees work their way through the entire workflow in one of ECCO’s production subsidiaries. During the second year the trainees work with one of the core business areas at ECCO headquarters in Denmark. During the third year the trainees travel abroad again to work in one of ECCO’s production or sales subsidiaries.

Management change in ECCO
ECCO’s Chief Operating Officer Mikael Thinghuus has wanted to step down from his position by year end 2007. ECCO’s Supervisory Board regrets the decision and has today at its ordinary meeting expressed a warm thank you to Mikael Thinghuus for an excellent effort the last 4 years. Thinghuus has made an important contribution to ECCO’s development and the company’s much improved results.

On the 3rd of October, ECCO opened its first franchise concept shop in Pakistan. The shop is situated in a prime location in Gulberg, the exclusive shopping district of Lahore.

ECCO concept store opened in Hong Kong
The first ECCO concept store opened its doors in Hong Kong in October. Following the authentic thematic “Five Elements” dance performance, the official opening was performed by ECCO CEO, Mr. Dieter Kasprzak. The event was also the launch platform for the world premiere of the new limited edition shoe ECCO E1, which will only be sold in selected ECCO stores around the globe. Together with other special material limited editions E1 was showcased by TV celebrities and top models in town. The limited edition collections attracted a lot of attention from guests, visitors, and customers at Union Square.

Copenhagen Walkathon raised DKK 600,000
DKK 600,000 was raised at this year’s ECCO Walkathon in Copenhagen on Sunday August 26. The ninth edition of ECCO Walkathon in Copenhagen had over 15,000 participants that walked the 6 and 10 km routes through the streets of Copenhagen.
