Shanghai hosted Asia’s first shop Walkathon

The 23rd of August, 600 participants including ECCO shop partners, media from all over Asia and volunteers of WWF participated in the first Asian Shop Walkathon ever. The walkathon was held in Shanghai and to avoid the very busy traffic in the city, the venue was the beautiful Zhongshai Park located right in the city centre. And as it was a Shop Walkathon, ECCO APAC had build a temporarily shop in a huge tent next to the start- and finishing line.

Also VIPs attended the event. Amongst them the famous Asian popsinger Joey, COO Mikael Thinghuus and Vice President of Global Marketing, Claus Kjærsgaard.

By participating, the ECCO partners and participants help to raise 300,000 RMB for the WWF “Save Energy” project in China. The aim of the project is to decrease the Chinese energy consumption by 20 percent.

The day of Asia’s first Shop Walkathon ended with a dinner party in the beautiful settings of the French restaurant Sens and Bund. Part of the restaurant had been refurnished to host a catwalk that was used for a great fashion show with top models wearing our AW07 collection.

The ECCO Shop Walkathon was a part of the celebration of ECCO Asia Pacific’s 10 year anniversary.
