Christian Nilsson Captures Saint-Omer Open in ECCO World Class Golf Shoes

Danish shoemaker ECCO confirms that Christian Nilsson competed in its World Class golf shoes en route to his first PGA European Tour victory at the Saint-Omer Open in Lumbres, France this past weekend.

Starting Sunday’s final round with a four-stroke lead, the 30-year-old Swede fired a bogey-free 69 for a 13-under-par 271 total. Nilsson bested Portugal's Jose-Filipe Lima, the 2004 champion, by a tournament record six strokes.

“I was extremely pleased with how I handled the pressure today,” says Nilsson. “I’m just so, so happy.”

Since turning professional in 1999, Nilsson has recorded four additional top-10 finishes, including a runner up at the same event in 2008. The win earns him €100,000, as well as a PGA European Tour exemption for the 2009 and 2010 seasons.
