ECCO Tanneries
ECCO has been producing leather since 1986 and the ECCO Leather Group today comprises four production units in the Netherlands, Indonesia, Thailand and China. While 85% of ECCO’s leather consumption is produced at ECCO’s own tanneries, the ECCO Leather Group also handles the external purchasing of the remaining 15% and also sells leather to third parties. Over 33% of the Leather Group’s production is sold to non-ECCO companies.
The tannery in the Netherlands is home to the ECCO Leather B.V. headquarters and a research and development centre that investigates more environmentally-friendly production methods and develops new and innovative types of leather. ECCO’s tanning process is conducted in compliance with the strictest environmental rules and requirements, and the 10 Commitments found in the
ECCO Code of Conduct.
