3,360 participants turn first ECCO Walkathon in Odense into a great success

The weather was perfect: on a crisp, cool and sunny Saturday morning, 3,360 people gathered on Flakhaven square in front of Odense town hall to join the first ECCO Walkathon ever in their city. The walk was opened by Odense’s mayor Jan Boye who walked in front on the 10 km route. The Walkathon was co-promoted by the city council and also marked the opening of Odense’s “Sustainability Week” and the yearly “Fjord Day”. Apart from music and entertainment before and after the walk, participants and visitors received information on the city’s commitment to climate protection and environmental sustainability – a subject many people are interested in today. A special thanks goes out to Flemming Kjersgaard from the City of Odense as well as to all participants, local partners and all volunteers!

Start & Strecke

Der Start- und Zielbereich Flakhaven

Flakhaven ist der Platz vor dem Rathaus und liegt in einer schönen Umgebung mitten im historischen Zentrum. Während der Veranstaltung wird es vor Ort u. a. eine Live-Bühne mit musikalischer Unterhaltung geben, Ausstellungen über die Projekte der Organisationen Street Kids International und WWF und Zelte für die Anmeldung und Ausgabe der Starterpakete, die von lokalen Verbänden betrieben werden. Außerdem gibt es Imbiss- und Getränkestände im Start- und Zielbereich.Sie bitte auf die Grafik links.
Strecke: 6 km

Der Rundgang führt entlang des Flusses Odense Å, durch die Parkanlagen von Munke Mose und vorbei am ZOO. Die Strecke von 6 km Länge ist sowohl für Familien mit Kindern und Kinderwagen als auch für Rollstuhlfahrer gut geeignet. Um die Streckenkarte einzusehen, klicken Sie bitte auf die Grafik links.
Strecke: 10 km

Der Rundgang verläuft wie die 6 km- Strecke, aber sie geht noch weiter raus zum Engen und dem Waldgebiet Fruens Bøge. Diese Strecke ist auch für Kinderwagen und Rollstuhlfahrer gut geeignet. Um die Streckenkarte einzusehen, klicken Sie bitte auf die Grafik links.
